CLLI LOA Entity Format Selection Help
Switching Entity (i.e. Digital Switch)
- End Office – Class V switch, provides dial tone to end users/customers.
- Tandem Office – Class IV switch, establishes trunk-to-trunk connections.(not appropriate for NPA NXX assignment).
- Remote Switching System – Extension of host switch, performs Emergency Stand Alone operation if host connection is lost.
- Digital Packet Device – provides routing and switching for data transmission or in LERG used for Signaling Transfer Points (STP) only. (not appropriate for NPA NXX assignment).
- ATM Switch – Identifies an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) switching system.
- Wireless/Mobile Switch – Includes PCS, RCC, Paging, MTSO, etc.
- Packet End Office – Multiple line/access and trunk gateways functioning together as an end office switch in a Voice over Packet (VoP) network.
- Remote Packet End Office – Line/access gateway(s) in VoP network (similar to a PSTN remote switch). Also requires identification of a host switch with a CLLI Code such as a Packet End Office or digital switch.
- Gateways
- Trunk Gateway – Provides the interface between the PSTN digital trunk facility and the VoP core network. Also capable of setting up a transport connection through the core PSTN network when instructed by the Call Agent.
The following information is required in the appropriate fields when ordering for all Entity Types except for POIs and Emergency (911 Services):

POI Entity (Point of Interface)
- Message Trunk Interface – POI (Trunk side switch interface, i.e. associated with NPA/NXX's) - Any new Message Trunk Point of Interface CLLI Codes require either an EC or IAC Code for your company. As part of the (x)MD CLLI Code online purchase, you must also submit an order for either an EC Code or an IAC Code if your company does not already have one of these codes.
- Facility Point of Interface – POI (Interconnecting at T1 level or higher) - Any new Facility Circuit Point of Interface CLLI Codes require an IAC Code for your company. As part of a W(x)(x) CLLI Code online purchase, you must also submit an order for an IAC Code if your company does not already have this code.
